NITE – NITE

NITE is a dark electronic alternative duo from Dallas, Texas. Twin brothers Myles and Kyle Mendes have been building their sound since 2013, and their self-titled fifth album feels like the moment everything they have been working toward arrives in one place. It almost feels like they chose to self-title it for a reason: This is a statement record.

The album opens with “All Your Pain,” and it earns its place at the front. Written from a place of genuine hurt, the vocal performance is what carries it. The styling is brilliant and the emotional register is exactly right. It is no wonder the song has found the audience it has. This one will be in rotation for years.

“End In Tears” follows a different path. The bassline is subtle but it drives the song from underneath, and the synthesizer leads in the chorus give it an infectious quality that is hard to shake. It is the kind of track that reveals itself more with each listen.

“Price For Heaven” rounds out our favorites on the vinyl and for us, has been a standout in their live performances. Hearing it in that context makes clear why. It translates well to a room.

NITE has been building to this moment for some time and it is genuinely exciting to see the international attention now finding them. This is a must have album. The vinyl is limited and you should grab it before its gone.
