Madeline Goldstein – Dream 2 Die (No Heaven)
Madeline Goldstein is a Los Angeles based artist releasing on Artoffact Records. “Dream 2 Die (No Heaven)” is the fourth single from her upcoming full-length “Speaking to the Body,” due April 10, 2026. Produced alongside Matia Simovich, the track was written nearly six years ago and gains clarity through time rather than distance.
The song immediately evokes a nostalgia for 80s synthpop. Where much of the dark electronic scene trends toward bleaker and colder territory, Goldstein moves in a brighter direction here. Nuovo Testamento comes to mind as a reference point. The arrangement draws on classic synthpop geometry: clean lines, deliberate turns, and a theatrical polish that nods toward the era without being confined by it. Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys are also audibly in the instrumentation without being copied.
Goldstein’s vocals are the defining element. Her alto-soprano range is captivating and the delivery is precise and controlled, sitting above the production with a confidence that draws you in. Warm synthesizer textures sit underneath with icy slivers of melancholy providing contrast.
Lyrically the song documents suspension. The moment when forward motion stalls and the world feels like a recurring dream. “Dream 2 Die (No Heaven) is a sonic hallucination brought upon by isolation and intrusive thoughts,” Goldstein has said of the track. The emotion is compressed and disciplined, allowing vulnerability to travel quietly beneath the surface rather than overwhelming it.
A strong preview of what “Speaking to the Body” has to offer.
