AGNIS – Elixir (CATTAC Remix)

AGNIS is a Polish darkpop project signed to darkTunes Music Group. “Elixir” in its original form is a playful track. CATTAC’s remix takes that source material and distills it into something considerably darker and more club friendly.

The energy is immediate and the dancefloor pull is strong from the opening bar. CATTAC adds gritty textures, a pounding groove, and a colder edge that transforms the character of the song without losing what made the original work. The detail that stands out most is the slight pitch flutter on the song’s primary synth line. It is a small choice that adds a beautiful, almost unstable quality to the track, giving it a texture that lingers.

CATTAC did a genuinely beautiful job with this. The remix earns its place as its own thing rather than simply a repositioning of existing material. darkTunes continues to facilitate strong collaborations between its roster. This is another good example.

Between this and the CZARINA reimagining of “Creatures of the Night,” AGNIS is building a strong catalog of collaborative work on darkTunes. Both are worth your time.
